FRC JV 2687 “Team Apprentice”

Team Apprentice (FRC 2687) is Westlake High School’s FRC Junior Varsity Robotics Team. Team Apprentice is the result of our FRC Varsity’s Team Appreciate trying to open up FRC opportunities for engagement to younger high school students, and create a pipeline of STEM and FRC Robotics through all 4 years of high-school.

Team Apprentice works closely with Team Appreciate. In addition to sharing the same work space during the season. Team Apprentice and Team Appreciate are functionally the same team during the off-season. The leads of each mechanical sub-team (Design, Electronics, Programming, and Manufacturing) work in groups and one-on-one to train the students, regardless of which team they are on.

This FRC JV option is open to all Westlake High School students who enroll in one of Westlake High School’s competition focused robotics classes, provided students can commit to the extracurricular hours and are not already a member of a FTC robotics team or FRC2468.

To learn more about our FRC JV option, please see our FAQ’s or email Coach Norman Morgan at nmorgan@eanesisd.net or WESTA at info@westaaustin.org.
